Second Space Arts is on the second floor (duh!) of the building owned by the Oxford Circle Christian Community Development Association which also houses Oxford Circle Mennonite Church and the offices of MCC East Coast, among others. I know, that’s probably more syllables than you really want to see in a day. Basically, there was empty wall space, and Tim saw it as an opportunity to feature local, contemporary art.
So far, the goal is to have four shows per year. The inaugural exhibit includes some of Tim’s paintings, alongside those of two
of our friends, Keith Crowley and James Erikson. For the fall show, Tim hopes to feature several collages and illustrations by two female artists (names withheld as details have
not been finalized yet).
Since our budget for the gallery is pretty much non-existent, we came up with a button to give as a thank you (while supplies last!) to those who donate
a few bucks to help defray the costs.
Art. Ha-ha. Ha.
Oh, and if you haven’t noticed, the reception is Saturday (tomorrow!) evening, so come out if you can!
